Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It’s been many months since we have enjoyed sharing the Liturgy of the Word with the children who join us at the 9:30 Mass. We have so missed their joyous faces. Please let them know we are thinking of them, and sending our hellos and God’s love to them.
We thought it might be fun to share some resources with you to bring the spirit of the Children’s Liturgy of the Word into your home. Through simple activities, you and your child can explore learning about God’s love and creation, and perhaps enjoy some new adventures together and as a family.
Since there is always a weeklong celebration for St. Francis in the beginning of October (his feast day is Oct. 4th), we have used themes that will focus and enrich that celebration for us. These include awareness and appreciation of what God has created, the care of our beautiful earth, how good it is to pray and open our heart to God, and ways to show gratitude for our Church, family and friends. There’s much more on our CLOW links than you might have the time or energy to do, but you can select whatever feels right to you and can fit into your schedule.
We hope this time of Covid-19 restrictions will have a silver lining, one that brings unexpected closeness with family and friends, appreciation and enjoyment of the many gifts we are often too busy to notice, and a new certainty and experience of God’s love.
