
The Pastoral Council calls attention to, and helps the pastor think through issues critical to the life of the parish. The Council interprets the needs, ideas, and hopes of parishioners to the pastor, evaluates parish life as to its conformity with the Gospel, and recommends policies and programs with a vision for the future.

The Parish Finance Council oversees all aspects of parish finances. The council monitors all parish revenue and expenditures (including any and all savings and indebtedness), assures that quarterly reports are provided to the parish, guides the budget process and approves the annual budget after consulting with the Pastoral Council. It is the first and most comprehensive line of defense against financial impropriety and financial problems. The chair is appointed by the pastor and is an ex-officio member of the Pastoral Council.

The Stewardship Committee promotes parish-wide awareness that we are to receive God’s gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly, and share them in love and justice. The committee sees to the proper welcoming of new members, promotes volunteerism in the parish and assists the staff in providing parishioners with the various resources they need to take on various works in service of the parish. The committee helps the staff develop means for increased giving of time, talent and treasure. The committee coordinates parish participation in the Bishop’s Annual Appeal.

The Liturgy Committee assists the friars and the Director of Music in the conduct of the parish’s liturgical and devotional life. The Committee reviews the liturgical and devotional needs of each of the main liturgical seasons, and assists in the recruitment, training and ongoing formation of liturgical ministers. It also conducts an ongoing assessment of the parish’s liturgical life. The Committee assists the pastor in ensuring that the quality of our liturgy is worthy of the mysteries that we celebrate.

The role of the Faith Formation Committee is to ensure that faith formation is parish-wide, and that the various components of the program are coherent. The Committee assists the Director of Faith Formation, the staff, and those involved in various faith formation ministries to see that each component is appropriately staffed and that opportunities for the continuing education of ministers are provided.

The role of the Social Justice Committee is to keep the parish conscious of its obligation to live a faith that does justice. The committee promotes and coordinates programs on behalf of justice and peace locally and in the world community. The committee seeks to realize these goals through advocacy, direct service, and education.

The Pastoral Care Committee engages in an ongoing exploration of the pastoral needs of parishioners and sees that the friars and parishioners provide appropriate care to those at critical moments in their lives. The committee assists the staff in providing pastoral care givers with in-service training and on-going education.
