Holy Orders

The Sacrament of Holy Orders (“ordination”) is conferred by a bishop on those called by the church to serve as deacons, priests or bishops.

Ordained ministers serve as the church as visible signs of its vocation to be a community seeking to fulfill the prayer of Jesus that “they may be one;” to be a community of those “hear the word of God and keep it,” and a community sent into their homes, schools, and places of business to “wait on table.”

Parishioners who sense a call from God to serve others as an ordained minister of the church should visit the vocation page for the Diocese of Raleigh and to contact one of the friars.

Men considering a call to Franciscan life are encouraged to speak to any of the friars, or click on the link below.

If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
