Urban Ministries of Durham connects with the community to end homelessness and fight poverty by offering food, shelter, and a future to neighbors in need. Established in 1983, the program will help anyone in need and assists more than 6,000 men, women, and children each year thanks to thousands of donors, including our parish.

Here are just a few examples of the power of your donation to UMD. Your contribution of:
If you wish to donate to only THIS ORGANIZATION, we accept cash, credit cards, or you may write one check directly to Immaculate Conception with Urban Ministries of Durham in the memo line and return it at the Gift Fair.
If you would like to write ONE check but donate to MULTIPLE ORGANIZATIONS, use the form to select the organizations, specify the amounts for each organization, and the number of cards from each organization, and write one check to Immaculate Conception.
- $45 will pay for one night of shelter for a homeless person plus meals for a day
- $100 will enable a shelter resident to secure a valid ID so they can obtain a job
- $250 will furnish a move out-kit of sheets, pillows, pots, pans, and other needed items for a client exiting into housing
- $500 will pay for a meal for 200 men, women, and children who are hungry
