Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

You have an opportunity for obtaining a steady supply of fresh pesticide-free vegetables this Fall, while supporting a Black farmer. IC’s Green Team is continuing a partnership with other churches, First Presbyterian Church, and Eno River Unitarian Universalist to support Kamal Bell of Sankofa Farms, in Efland. The goal of Sankofa Farms is to create a sustainable food source for minorities in both rural and urban areas located in Durham and Orange County, North Carolina.

Here are the details we currently have for the Fall CSA Season:
  • Sourced and facilitated by Kamal Bell and Sankofa Farms
  • Six-week CSA [ September 29 – November 3]
  • $30 / weekly produce box delivery ($180 for a full share / $90 for a half-share)
  • Payment should be made online at the Sankofa Farms website homepage just below the words, “Purchase below”.
  • Payment for the entire season is due September 25, and people can purchase week-by-week as well.
  • Pick up is at First Presbyterian Church on Thursdays, from 4:00-6:00 pm.

If you have questions or would like more details, feel free to contact IC Green Team Member, Larry Brockman, 919-824-1579.
