JUSTICE, PEACE, AND INTEGRITY OF CREATION (JPIC)
|
Immaculate Conception's Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Pregnancy and Infant Loss ministry is led by parishioner Christina Gebel, a birth doula, childbirth educator, and someone who has experienced loss personally.
Women and men who have experienced a loss in pregnancy and/or of an infant are welcome to join, whether recently or years prior. |
Please email Christina [email protected] to express interest and receive more information. *Please note the ".co" in the email. There is no "m".
INTERNATIONAL BEREAVED MOTHER'S DAY
|
The Pregnancy and Infant Loss Ministry would like to call our attention to International Bereaved Mother's Day. Bereaved Mother’s Day is honored internationally on the first Sunday in May for any mother who has lost a child or pregnancy at any point in her lifetime, no matter how soon or long ago the loss occurred. It is a day of remembrance and support. A day to find healing and restoration.
|
After all morning Masses on the first Sunday in May, a member of our ministry will be handing out cards to all mothers in the gathering space. If you are someone who has lost a child, please keep this card as a gesture of support for personal prayer and reflection. If you have not experienced a loss, consider sharing this card with someone you know who grieves the loss of a child and may appreciate a gentle, thoughtful note.
Let us pray for those observing Bereaved Mother’s Day. May all families who are grieving the loss of a child or pregnancy find comfort and hope in the healing presence of God.
NATIONAL PREGNANCY AND INFANT LOSS REMEMBRANCE DAY
PRAYER & CANDLE LIGHTING
Immaculate Conception's Pregnancy and Infant Loss Ministry cordially invites you to an event on Sunday, October 12th, after the 9:30 Mass in the side chapel. All are invited to join in a brief time of prayer and candle lighting to honor the children in our families and in our community who have died before birth or during infancy. This event is in honor of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, which is observed worldwide on October 15th.
Let us pray for parents who have lost a child before birth or during infancy, that they may be comforted by God's unfailing love and supported by their families, friends, and faith communities.
