Multi-year justice related:
  1. The Corona Virus fund began in April of 2020.  Through June of 2021 it had collected over $111,000.  These funds were fully disbursed as of June 2022.  We helped 112 households with an average amount of assistance per family of just under $1,000.  Categories of assistance and amount: housing $71,000, utilities $30,000, healthcare related $7,000, Food $2,000.
  2. Solar Panel Project: Parishioners raised over $19,000 to support the solar lease project.  Panels have been installed on the Olive Tree roof.  Connection to the grid is expected very soon.
  3. Affordable Housing: In March of 2021 parishioners donated (some using their 2021 Corona Virus stimulus payments) to an Affordable Housing collaboration with the Durham Community Land Trust intended to assist low-income Land Trust homeowners in the blocks around the parish with deferred maintenance.  In the spring and fall of 2021 two homeowners had their roofs replaced and groups of parishioners replaced the rotting front porches of their homes.  In the fall of 2021 $5,000 was sent to Habit for Humanity to be used for repairs for low-income homeowners in this area.  Approximately $5,000 remains for this collaboration.
Other:
  1. Latino Food sale raised $9,000 for the parish and $20,000 for the BAA
  2. The parish raised $185,208 or our $276,614 goal set by the diocese for the BAA.
Capital repair projects ($184,000 for the parish and $285,000 for the school) included:
  • Major re-installation of the fire alarm in the school buildings
  • New cooling tower for the school
  • HVAC in the parish
    • new church furnace
    • new duct work in the church
    • new compressors for the sanctuary
    • new controls for the church
  • HVAC for atria and school
    • new units for 2 trailers
    • new unit for art room
    • new unit for tech room
  • Campus drainage work between fellowship hall and EK and inside the courtyard next to the Olive Tree building – the fellowship hall and Olive Tree building had worsening water intrusion over the years causing the gym flooring to fail and the elevator shaft to collect water.
  • New Olive Tree roof (to enable installation of solar panels)
  • New flooring in Fellowship Hall/Gym
