Ongoing Opportunities and Ministries
- Bible Study: Second and Fourth Tuesdays 11:00am to 12:30pm. We will be using the New Collegeville Bible Commentary. New members are welcome. Contact Karen Poglitsch if interested. [email protected] Karen Poglitsch.
- Young Adult Ministry Parishioners 21+ are welcome to join this new initiative to build community among younger adults. community building ministry. We plan to launch small groups this fall, as well as organizer larger gatherings. Together we hope to explore what it means to grow in faith and active discipleship. - Called Deeper: Contemplative Scripture... Lectio Divina group meets Mondays Virtually from 7-8:30pm, except on First Mondays. The group spends some time in silence and stillness, followed by deep listening to multiple readings of one of the upcoming Sunday Scripture texts. We dig deeper into what Word speaks to us each now and to what action we are called because of our hearing. The circle time is closed with prayer for each new member and for those we bring to the prayer circle. Questions? Email Barbara Pegg.
- REMAIN IN MY LOVE - LGBTQ Ministry. Third Saturday of the month 10:30AM to 12:30PM. This ministry provides opportunities for fellowship, support, and discussion of issues regarding sexuality, gender, and spirituality in a loving, non-judgmental faith community. All are welcome to respectfully attend these meetings, this includes LGBTQ persons, families, friends and all who want to learn more about being a supportive Catholic to our LGBTQ parishioners. - Men’s Bible Study “Iron Sharpens Iron” A group of men who meet Wednesday mornings 6:45-8:00 am as they seek a deeper understanding of scripture and how to live their faith in the world. Contact: Neil McManus, 919-698-2624
- Preparing others for the sacrament of Marriage couples can be in a shared ministry, serving as "Mentor Couples". You would meet for 1-hour with an engaged couple for 5-7 sessions. There is a resource that serves as a helpful guide, and can be a way to strengthen the bonds within a marriage as you accompany others in their preparation. - Preparing Parents for the Sacrament of their Child's Baptism we seek parishioners who can help welcome parents and godparents as they come to the church seeking to baptize their child. Please contact Margie Burton if you are interested.
- Wednesday Morning Prayer Group Meet in thanksgiving and prayer for all of God’s blessings and to pray for everyone’s intentions. Contact: Kathy Straube, 919-383-2757.
- Women’s Retreat Team Planning team responsible for the annual gathering of women off-site in January to share stories and spirituality.
The 2024 Retreat is April 12th-14th at St. Francis Springs in Stoneville, NC. - Family Friendly Community Potlucks (**suspended for now**) Interested in connecting with other members of the parish? Email Olga Rodriguez to be added to the group's mailing list and join in a time of feasting, fellowship, and family. We are just getting going, and aim to meet once a month on Fridays from 5:30-7:30.
