The most Precious Gift I Have Ever Received

I am Mary Linda Andrews and have been a volunteer with the Immaculate Conception RCIA Program (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) since 2022. The truth and joy of the Catholic faith is the most precious gift I have ever received. I am sharing that joy of Jesus’ love and mercy with those who have a heart of inquiry and want to join a conversation about the Catholic faith. During the past 1 1/2 years, my faith has been inspired by the candidates’ journeys and their questions about Catholicism. RCIA is a beautiful opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of Catholic beliefs and practices - to grow and learn together as we build a caring and welcoming community. RCIA classes are comprised of people from diverse ethnic backgrounds and many faiths or no faith. All are welcome and questions are received with respect. I have seen God calling people to the Catholic faith through their young children, through an undefined spiritual hunger, through marriage, and because a Catholic reached out to them. - is searching for something greater than self,
- has never been baptized, or has been baptized in another Christian faith tradition and is now interested in the Catholic faith,
- is baptized in the Catholic faith but has not receive First Communion and/or Confirmation,
- is a Catholic who has been away and now has questions about the Catholic faith.
We are all called to share the faith - so maybe this is your opportunity to do just that. Consider inviting your friend, family member, coworker or acquaintance to talk with us about RCIA. The RCIA team looks forward to meeting them. Remember, God’s timing is perfect. If they are not ready to respond today, no worries. You have planted a seed that may grow into a future inquiry.
