Parish Council
Brings attention to and helps the pastor think through issues critical to the life of the parish. The Council interprets the needs, ideas, and hopes of parishioners to the pastor, evaluates parish life as to its conformity with the Gospel, and recommends policies and programs with a vision for the future. |
Finance Council
Oversees all aspects of parish finances by monitoring parish revenue and expenditures. Assures quarterly reports are provided to the parish, guides the budget process, and approves the annual budget after consulting with the Parish Council. The chair is appointed by the pastor. |
Latino Council
The council members are the leaders of the ministries that serve in parish life. They advise the pastor on issues and needs affecting the Latino/Hispanic community and together they seek ways to better serve this growing community. |
Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Council
The JPIC Council consists of a select group of extremely dedicated parishioner leaders chosen by the Director of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation from our various JPIC ministries to help keep the parish conscious of its obligation to live a “faith that does justice.” The JPIC Council supports the director in developing various strategic and budgetary goals responding to the “signs of the times” in alignment with Catholic Social Teaching and our parish’s commitment to Laudato Si’. They serve our parish by providing leadership in promoting and coordinating programs on behalf of our Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) ministries. Communications
Committee Help coordinate the communication efforts of the parish. Assist the parish communication coordinator devise a communication plan to ensure successful communication with our fellow parishioners. Contact chair, Lara Wilson |
Welcoming Committee
Welcome new parishioners and help all parishioners -new and established- discern their gifts in leading a Stewardship way of life. For more information on the volunteer requirements of this committee please scroll down to the bottom of this page (Gifts Discernment*), or contact: June Mader. |
Stewardship Committee
Stewardship is a spiritual concept that is about understanding that all we have comes from God and that we have a need to share what we have with others through our time, talent, and treasure. Immaculate Conception is blessed to have a number of Ministries that help us connect with our fellow parishioners and to the wider community. Please click on a specific category to see all relevant ministries. If you would like to volunteer for one of these groups, contact the listed coordinator or the parish office at 919-682-3449.
*Gifts Discernment
Volunteers can be involved in all or some of the Connections processes (Welcoming and Discernment) as time and interest allow. Understanding the parish vision and the role of this team in helping parishioners discern and commit their time and talent in “making a difference". Participating in monthly Welcoming sessions that offer parish registration and Stewardship concept introduction. Connecting actively with “seekers” and other established parishioners, i.e., those who have shown recent interest in parish life—for example, those newly registered, received Sacraments, participants in Parish Mission, Adult Faith Formation, Women’s Retreat—on discerning their gifts as well as time and talent interests. Engage them in discussions on specific ICC opportunities. Responding professionally and in a timely manner to expressed interest using parish data sources that 1) identify parishioner interest, 2) provide information on time and talent opportunities, and 3) track volunteer commitments. Listening actively to facilitate translation of parishioner gifts and interests to a time and talent commitment. Time commitment is three hours of training and bimonthly meetings, plus 1-2 hours per week (with increased time during November to follow up on interest expressed via Stewardship Renewal process).
