Update on Strategic Plan goal 1: DEEPEN THE FAITH LIFE OF THE COMMUNITY
“To enhance the faith life of the community by improving the Sunday Mass experience and Faith Formation efforts, including … revitalizing our work in the areas of Adult Faith Formation.

June 2019 Update

Minister of Adult Faith formation hired; commissioned for ministry in February w/Youth Minister, Marcus Steer
Lent Programming: Wrestling with the Word on Sundays with child programming in parallel to adult time engaging with the Sunday readings, Piloted Younger Young Adults group (16-21), Contemplation & Scripture Study Group, Praying the Labyrinth
Interfaith learning opportunity: Presentation by Imam Waheed on Islam and Civic engagement
Offered staff support and promotion of Lectio Divina Group
Easter Season: Acts Bible Study
Support new LGBT Spiritual & Social Support Gatherings
Kick off Monthly Family-Friendly Community potlucks; begin to re-start a Young Adult Ministry & gathering

Goals & Looking Ahead

Build an Adult Faith Formation Advisory Team
Support and grow the RCIA Team of Catechists and Sponsors
Launch “Date nights” in September – 3rd Fridays of the Month; an opportunity for child care at a reduced rate so couples can have some time to focus on their relationship
Fall AFF Offerings: Engaging our Franciscan Tradition w/Fr. Hugh, Women and the Diaconate, a public lecture and a small group study, Bible Studies on Revelation w/Fr. Chris
Diocesan Prison Ministry Formation Day – October 26th
Support existing ministries: including Lectors, eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, Catechists, those who visit the sick and bring communion in the hospital
November 23rd - Advent Parish Assembly: an opportunity for inter-generational sessions and workshops, kick off small faith sharing groups for the Advent Season
Plan a parish mission that helps meet Parish Goal to build a more unified community and nourish our faith in Lent 2020
Promote the Women’s Retreat – February 2020
Explore interest in growing a parish retreat program
Explore interest in Spanish language learning classes offered at church
Help facilitate retreat for Immaculata staff and teachers at beginning of 2019-2020 school year
